Noticed that with my current Firefighter - I have flying boots and can not only easily reproduce the above, but also discovered that if a food item is in a puddle of shallow water, the character somehow cannot reach it with the same message.
A giant corpse I was eating got left aside to deal with other monsters, and one of my tame water elementals - or a hostile one, don't exactly recall - was killed on top of the partly eaten corpse. I found I could not eat the corpse off the puddle of shallow water it left behind while flying, and had to pick it up and move it one square in order to resume eating (as there was enough left to make it strain-inducing to carry).
Steps to reproduce:
e,
Expected behavior:
"There is nothing to eat here"
Version:
The one you play on hardfought
