Change message frequency on n2k

Hi.
A bit of a newbie question :-).
I have installed SK on a VenusOS RPi. I want to send battery information to be displayed on my MFDs. My plotter shows voltage for some seconds and then the values disappear. I assume that the plotter has a timeout for how long values are displayed so fresher values are needed with some minimum frequency. I am looking at the output log from the SK-MNEA2000 plugin and see that data is being sent in a burst of some copies and then there is a waiting period of several minutes before the next burst. I have tried to change the two resend and resend duration values around but has not seen any effect. Quite frankly, I don't know how these values work and have just experimented with them. Does anyone have any idea how I can set the battery data to be sent out regularly and with a few seconds interval?
