NMEA Data to Victron DBus

I would like to pass NMEA data to the Victron DBus, such as Battery Data, Temperatures, Levels etc. I understand this should be possible using Signal K/Node Red. I'm fairly new to all this and have limited experience, but can learn.

Any help appreciated.

I didn't think it was possible to add new services to dbus, only write to existing ones. Maybe I missed something? Do you have any info on how to do it in node-red? I can show you the signal k part...

Ok. Yeah, you need that python script to create the service.

So install the signalk-node-red plugin and in that node-red, install the Victron palette.

You'll then use the signalk subscribe node to send the data to the Victron "custom" node.

Ok, I have Node Red running as the app in SK. Can create the subscribe services for the data I want into Victron DBus.

For instance, I want to write NMEA Freezer Temperature to the DBus Generic Temp.

Is it this python script I have to use, modified? https://github.com/victronenergy/velib_python/blob/master/dbusdummyservice.py

How do I run that between the SK subscribe node and the Victron custom node?

I'm just learning all of this stuff. Mechanical Engineer, not a software engineer...
