Challenges

  • Z-index is rarely managed as tokens, so this is a niche need that will impact few systems
  • DRUIDS' example shows a lot of metadata is needed to accompany raw token values (grouping by categories, reserved values)
  • Generic visual representations for a set of z-indexes are likely to be weak
