your case can be solved in the terminal with
sudo spctl --master-disable
and then in setting "Allow applications downloaded from" to "Anywhere" would solve the problem.
I have been using this screensaver for a long time. Thank you Samuel for developing it.
It could be installed on M2 processors and Sonoma, but even with the slowest speed, the articles appear in less than a second and cannot be read.
Perhaps if Readingspeed could be adjusted, it would be usable again.
It may already be an old project, but I think there are many people who would like to use it. It would be great if you could update it.

Looks like Apple updated the security parameters, I'm running MacOS Sonoma (14.5) and I get the following error:
"RSSNut can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software." <-- (FWIW, I was taught not to mix contractions in school)
