Add "featured image" option to pages, for Social Media cards #72
Comments
I've just added the section for featured images. i'll see how a default can be set for social stuff. |
Reopening this issue @norcross - doesn't seem to be resolved yet as seen here: |
i just looked, and there isn't a featured image applied to this page. but i'll see why the logo isn't being used as a default |
ok, i've updated the functionality to use the fallback image, and also have a better blurb than "visit the post for more". one thing, no one has connected the site to Jetpack (as far as i can tell) so some of the settings are still not accessible |
I enabled Jetpack but it automatically connected to all my personal accounts rather than the Safecast ones, @nokton was going to connect his account which is connected to the Safecast Facebook, LinkedIn, etc... |
Yes, still hoping to do that and may need some help when I do. So perhaps we can do it over zoom together as I wasn’t;t clear how to get this going when I tried last time. Will ping on this.

Seems like Twitter, Facebook etc are looking for the "featured image" when unfurling links and since pages like
https://safecast.org/covid19/
don't have a featured image, it's just showing a big empty white space. Could we set the default as the Safefcast logo but then also allow the option to add a featured image?
