Hello all! I’m not sure if it’s just me but I really struggle with the move key. I can never make it move in the axis that I want it to go in. This was particularly annoying when trying to move the textures away from the walls and moving the statue on the pediment. Is there an obvious feature that I am missing here?

Hi Ellis—I don't expect you're missing anything, it's just really tricky (in all software) to know which 3D axis you're moving along when you only have a 2D controlled (mouse or touchscreen). Try experimenting with different zoom levels and adjusting the angle from which you're looking, which sometimes helps to regain control over the move function. (If you get lost scrolling and panning about, you can go to "Camera" and select a "Standard View" to go back to where you can see the whole model.)

Good luck!

Hi Ellis!

Try to find the dotted line which, sometimes, would be parallel to one of the axis and then will turn into the color of that specific axis you're moving along with.

For the statue, I'd suggest you to use the Parallel camera (it's a 2D perspective of the scene, so really useful).

Both of these issues are solved in the full walkthrough, try to have a look at it and see how I did there ;)

PS: Moving the textures from the walls, as Gabby says, is really tricky. So again, try to select the textures while on Perspective cam and then swap to Parallel view/cam and move them from that perspective.

Hope it works!

Coré.

Glad it worked out, @Ellis307 ! Just remember to go back to Perspective cam when you're finished or you'll get stuck with the ortographic ("weird") view of the scene.
