issues/discussion tabs? #19
Comments
Hi Greta, and all, I would use this tracker for general conversation, as we're not using the discussion tab at the moment. I'm sorry I missed the end of the call yesterday: did we not suggest a time for the group work session then? In that case, and since getting a consensus is likely to take too long in this venue, may I suggest: Use the same Zoom link as yesterday and tomorrow's sessions (I won't post the link here, but you should all have it in email) any time between 15:00 – 17:00 UK time today. I have turned off the waiting room, so you should all be able to enter even if neither Coré nor I are there to let you in. (But email me if anything goes wrong, and I'll try to join and see if I can help.) No reason why you shouldn't also use the Zoom room for informal "coffee" chats as well as companionable co-working, or whatever else you all think is useful. |
Hi there ! did we decide on a time for meeting? I have been on the Zoomlink but is saying only waiting for host to start the meeting |
My mistake, it seems I didn't change all the settings needed to allow you to join any time with me needing to let you in. I think I've fixed it now—try again? But I don't know who else intends to show up… |
Hello everyone, I hope you had the meeting/coworking session yesterday and got help from each other. Modeling for the first time can be tricky. I might be able to stay for a bit longer after the workshop finishes and we can discuss further projects, I'm looking forward to see what you have in mind Greta @s0crates2 ! 🐂🏃 See you all later, Coré. |
Looking forward to it!

Great! I have a couple of desk shifts today, so I’ll log in when I’m able.
My coffee question is a tangential one to this class: is it possible to use 3D technology to recreate the bull jumping fresco? One of the videos outlined different softwares. If so, which ones? It couldn’t be static, and the purpose would be to test different scenarios of speed, distance, etc. Originally I chose this topic in another class to demonstrate a research strategy to the students: which disciplines would be relevant and how would one interrogate the existing literature? I think the only definitive proof would be a recreation.
If anyone’s interested, let me know and we can set up a time later. I have a lot of homework today!

Hi--
If I wanted to send an email to fellow students would I do it here? Or is that what the discussion tab is for?
Did everyone decide on a time for the group work session? I downloaded the wrong version of Sketch Up so I have to start over, so I'll just hold everyone up if I attended, but it leads me to a better question, which is
What about coffee breaks? Wherever I attend a Zoom workshop next, I'm going to invite folks to coffee. One of the things I miss from in-person workshops are the conversations before and after class, when one learns more about other people's projects.
For example, Coré and Hildi, since you have experience with Video Gaming technology, I have a question about recreating the bull jumping fresco at Knossos, which is too long to explain here.
See you Thursday!
Greta
