Summary
It'd be really cool if I could type ValueInput<float(bracket) for example and select that without having to go into the thing if I know specifically what type I need already

And how should it determine what concrete type you want?

Idk but the way it normally works is you just put a type in the brackets and if it works you can pick the component/thingy of that specific type
