Plans for the renewed Epherome

After nearly one year's stagnant of development, Epherome is going to start its plan of renewal. These plans are expected to be carried out in the start of 2024. The latest version is 0.7.2, with codename Blackstone.

Here is a incomplete list (to be continued) of things that to be planned.

• New version name and codename for the renewed version. (0.8 or 1.0 in order to show that this is a renewed version)
• Whether to restrictedly copy & paste codes from legacy code or rewrite from zero.
• Tech-stack. Whether pure TypeScript with Electron still a good solution. (Considering that the white-screen problem is caused by Rust add-ons)
• Tech-stack for front-end. This time I want to try vanilla.
• Internationalization. Can we assume that Minecraft player is good at reading English UI, or we should left a space for future i18n?
• Extendibility. Extension for the launcher itself.

Here are two items that requires extended discussion and a very long result.

• User interface design. What should be displayed on the home page and how are pages associated?
• Exciting features. 🚀

现在很多主流启动器不是都有联机功能吗？我们也可以做！只不过可以换一种不同的方式

YES!你没听错，我们可以把它做成一种单独的模块，或者说插件。可以不把它放到软件里。正好我看你们的插件库是空的 这正合适成为第一个插件！

为什么呢？

我们在为正版玩家做功能的同时也得兼顾一下离线玩家。
我记得 @Fantety 做过开服器，可以尝试一下。¹ ↖懒得重新往上加了，备注在下面（深夜蹲坑同时想到的）。

Options for tech-stack (Con&Pro):

1. Electron: In avoidance of legacy problems, maybe TypeScript will be the only developing language. Large package size. Relatively consistent user environment. Access to a rich npm ecosystem.
2. Tauri: Possible inconsistent user experience between devices. Inaccessible to npm ecosystem. Safe Rust usage, high-performance and small size.
3. Jetpack Compose Multiplatform: Requires JVM to run, without the ability to run out-of-box on any device. Access to a rich Java ecosystem. UI that isn't based on Web.

A new branch tauri has opened. That was where I'm going to do my next steps. After enough period of time I will change in to main and the current main may be renamed legacy.
