Hello,
I've seen the progress ROCM made and I see that there is even potential for it to be useful on Windows. This can be a real game changer.
I explain. I work on cross platform OpenCL based inferenceand training. The biggest advantage is that it performs well and runs on all platforms - including nVidia, Intel and AMD - of course. No huge framework installation - only standard OpenCL drivers and you can run it anywere
I started integrating Intel's oneDNN opencl primitives library and it gives very promising results for Intel GPUs.
I want to do the same with MIOpen/OpenCL. If it becomes depreciated it questions the situation and potential performance benefits you can have from using MIOpen.
Please undepricate MIOpenc/OpenCL support since it can be highly important with seamless high performance computing
