Problem Description

From the following reproducer:

Where one uncomment either the struct Undef; of either case, we observe the following behavior:

  • Case 1 crashes with the following message: :0:/long_pathname_so_that_rpms_can_package_the_debug_info/src/external/clr/hipamd/src/hip_global.cpp:56 : 11209892700 us: [pid:242708 tid:0x7fec33878580] Cannot create GlobalVar Obj for symbol: _Z11dummy_constIN12_GLOBAL__N_15UndefEE
  • Case 2 complets as wanted.
    Compiled and executed naively using hipcc test.cc && ./a.out. RDC does not help.

The test fails with ROCm 5.7.1 and passes with 6.0.0.

Is there a workaround for 5.7.1 ?
