Planetary Nervous System License

GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 with PNS Environmental Rider

Version 1.0

This program is part of the Planetary Nervous System (PNS), a decentralized network for Earth's environmental healing and collective intelligence.

1. Base License

This program is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU Affero General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.

This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. See the GNU Affero General Public License for more details.

2. PNS Environmental Protection Requirements

In addition to the terms and conditions of the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0, any use, modification, or distribution of this software must comply with the following environmental protection requirements:

2.1 Environmental Impact

  • All operations must validate and minimize environmental impact
  • Negative environmental impacts must be prevented or mitigated
  • Regular environmental impact assessments are required
  • All healing metrics must be tracked and reported
  • Resource usage must be optimized for environmental benefit

2.2 Decentralization Requirements

  • No entity may control more than 5% of total nodes
  • Geographic distribution must span at least 50 countries
  • No single node type may exceed 20% of network
  • Maximum 3% resource control per entity
  • Maximum 1% voting power per entity

2.3 Resource Distribution

  • Fair and need-based resource allocation required
  • Resource usage must be validated and optimized
  • Waste prevention mechanisms must be implemented
  • Community benefit must be demonstrated and measured
  • Local ecosystem needs must be considered

2.4 Governance Requirements

  • Democratic decision-making processes required
  • Major changes require 90% community consensus
  • Environmental impact decisions require validation
  • Regular community audits and reviews required
  • Transparent operation and reporting mandatory

3. Compliance and Enforcement

3.1 Mandatory Validation

  • All implementations must include validation systems
  • Regular compliance audits are required
  • Public reporting of environmental metrics
  • Community oversight mechanisms
  • Automatic protection enforcement

3.2 Violations

Violations of these requirements:

  1. Invalidate the license grant
  2. Require immediate corrective action
  3. Must be publicly disclosed
  4. Trigger community review process

4. Additional Terms

4.1 Binding Nature

These environmental protection requirements are integral to and binding parts of the license. No use of the software is permitted without adherence to these requirements.

4.2 Modifications

Any modifications to this software:

  1. Must maintain or enhance environmental protections
  2. Cannot reduce decentralization requirements
  3. Must preserve democratic governance
  4. Must enhance collective benefit

4.3 Network Participation

Participation in the PNS network requires:

  1. Continuous compliance monitoring
  2. Regular environmental impact reporting
  3. Active community participation
  4. Resource optimization
