Welcome to the fw-heudiconv wiki!

Flywheel HeuDiConv (or fw-heudiconv, pronounced /fwuː di kɑː n(v)/) is a Python-based toolkit that leverages the flexibility and comprehensiveness of Heudiconv to curate neuroimaging data on Flywheel into a BIDS-valid format.

Brain Imaging Data Structure (or BIDS) is an important recent development in the neuroimaging field that provides guidelines on how to structure, name, and share neuroimaging data. By adhering to the BIDS specifications, you can:

  • Save time trying to understand and reuse data acquired by other scientists
  • Jump right in to using a plethora of data analysis tools that understand BIDS data with little to no hassle
  • Export and share neuroimaging datasets with ease
  • Quickly validate and identify problems with your data before putting them through processing or analysis pipelines

fw-heudiconv brings all of these benefits to the Flywheel data warehousing platform, allowing you to curate your Flywheel datasets in a matter of minutes from the command line or right in the Flywheel web interface.
