Flatpak apps start slowly, if papirus-icon-theme is installed in guix system profile

This happens with:

• Distribution (version): GNU Guix
• Desktop environment: sway
• Installing method: guix system reconfigure config.scm
• Affected Apps: at least Spotify, DrawIO, Calibre

If have papirus-icon-theme in my Guix system's profile, flatpak takes ages (> 1minute) to start. strace showed that something is going on with papirus icons (I can provide strace's output if it helps). When I remove papirus-icon-theme from Guix system's profile and add it to my user's guix profile (guix install papirus-icon-theme), flatpak apps start as expected within few seconds.

can't reproduce on a linux system, probably an upstream bug caused by a large number of icons in this icon pack

it's maybe related to GNU Guix (and maybe NixOS) only and root cause is the large number of icons as you say, probably.
