Newsletter #3

Good idea Jonas. But I think once every month is difficult to guarantee, and it would be too bad to have some month publishing that almost nothing concrete happened. I think once per quarter should be OK. |
I like the idea. I thought about making a page on the website with a list of the best new articles in blogs of our members + a list of new add-ons + ... Community members can get general Alfresco news from Alfresco newsletters, so we can publish only our news. Also I prefer a webpage on the website (/news/20xx-month) with such information. We already have a mailing list, and I'm not sure that people open and read such messages. Giving a link to the website in Twitter and publishing news to RSS can work better. |
The key to a newsletter is for it to not contain 'news'. Instead it should simply be an aggregation of content that is already available. So the web site should still highlight news as Oksana says but I think we should also send a quarterly summary out as well for people who prefer a push model. Jeff

We should create a monthly newsletter to keep the wider Alfresco community informed about what's happening with OOTB and the Alfresco community in general. This could include:
In my opinion this is complementary to the existing mailing list which is used by active OOTB members for discussions and has too much activity for people who just want to stay informed.
