A slight update:
I figured out how Bafang complied to the EU nominal power regulations.
The m500 DOES have a different stator (and also maybe rotor).

However, i got no specifics, can anyone comment with the weight of their stator and/or rotor?

Nice to know. I am more interested on the M800. I am still waiting for availability for me being able to buy repair parts at a fair price and not such high prices as currently. Also Bafang motors are very expensive.

This was already known.
Look at the dimensions and weight of the two motors:
Weight: M600 3.7kg / M500 3.3kg
Stator Height: M600 72.4mm / M500 63.4

@CiDi-IT I don't see those stator sizes in that drawing tbh?

That being said: What was not known, is if that was in fact the part that caused the nominal rating.
I've since then got confirmation that indeed the motor unit is thermal limited using stator (and possibly rotor) sizing.

This is super important, because it means it's safe to use different controllers and controller firmwares without requiring formal EU recertification.

M800

@casainho Why not the m510? Slightly more power and at least guaranteed to be the same mounting as the m500?

Still, that leaves:

  1. Stator Weight
  2. Stator Specifications
  3. Rotor Weight
  4. Rotor Specifications
  5. Rotor Axle specifications

@CiDi-IT Non vedo quelle dimensioni dello statore in quel disegno tbh?

  1. Peso dello statore
  2. Specifiche dello statore
  3. Peso del rotore
  4. Specifiche del rotore
  5. Specifiche dell'asse del rotore

Here you can see it

Wow I totally looked over that detail, thanks @CiDi-IT

Thats also good news for law enforcement btw:
If it has the m500 case, it cannot reasonably fit the larger stator.
