Example message to notify members prior to removal

What this is used for

It's now possible to remove members from a project. (See the Open Humans documentation for this here). Reasons for this may include lack of data shared with a project after a certain period of time; or the joiner doesn't qualify for the project. Before removing the member, a project admin may want to notify these members and let them know how to re-join in the future if this was a mistake or they qualify at a future data for joining the project.

Example message for members with 0 data files shared

Reminder: do this BEFORE you go to delete the member! Once the member is deleted, you will not be able to message them.

Subject: Removal from [Insert your project name here]

Hello,

If you’re receiving this message, you’re an Open Humans member who joined the [Insert your project name here] in the past. However, we’ve noticed that you have shared zero data files with this project. The [Insert your project name here] was created [insert your project description/reason for having this project].

We are doing a data commons cleanup and have removed members without any data files.

If you think this removal is in error – you can simply rejoin the project (go to [project url]).[You may also want to explain how to upload the required data sources for the project.]

If you are having challenges with the [data upload type/method], you can re-join the [Insert your project name here] and use the “send a message to this project” button to anonymously message me within Open Humans and ask for help.

Thanks for your interest in [Insert your project name here]

Regards, [your name]
