I was reviewing the JSON manifest overview and noticed that certain elements, such as ExtendedOverrides, are supported in the unified manifest and can be configured within the "extensions" property.

However the documentation section for the "extensions" property does not mention ExtendedOverrides specifically, nor does it clarify whether keyboard shortcuts are supported by the unified manifest.

I understand that the unified manifest isn't fully supported across all platforms in Office 365 yet, but given its recent attention in community calls, I'm curious to know:

  1. Is support for keyboard shortcuts (ExtendedOverrides) planned for the unified manifest?
  2. If so, is there any ETA on when we can expect this feature to be available?

Any information or updates on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi @alexuaua,

Thanks for the question. We are working to bring support for Keyboard Shortcuts to the JSON-based unified manifest. You can see a draft of the documentation update in this PR: #4678.

We anticipate the shortcuts feature will be ready with the rest of the unified manifest preview for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word add-ins. That preview is coming soon, hopefully within the next couple of months.

I'll mark this issue as "In PR" and close it when that PR is checked in.
