Not able to Compile ONLYOFFICE Docs for a local server #291

I am using the following link for Compiling ONLYOFFICE Docs for a local server : https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/installation/docs-community-compile.aspx?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=build_tools&_ga=2.222489240.240936113.1618909307-600347315.1616501454

I am running it on Ubuntu 16.

If fails and gives me the following o/p :

I think this may be duplicate of #82

Could you try to build all product with python3 ./automate.py, it's take just a little more time than just building DesktopEditors

I tried it out...but now I am getting

I think this is network failure.
(Are you sure you're really need to compile it if curl error is problem for your?)

Also as sidenot I'm not sure that building on ubuntu 16.04 will work flawlessly, better use 14.04 as described in guide

What I am trying to do is build Onlyoffice doc server.
I can clone the repo and build from there. I can then deploy this on a server.
What are the steps if I want to build from the cloned repo and run docserver on a server?

Quest way is to build all products - using docker and this guide

I will try it out in Ubuntu 14.
There are two things that I am trying to achieve:

Make changes to DocServer code to allow https connection ( not via nginx ).
Create a build from these changes and deploy the new build on machine in a particular folder (not in etc/onlyoffice).

To accomplish these, what should I do?

For a second task you should follow the guide on running compiled DocumentServer

For a first one I don't quite understand what are you planning to do, but it's up to you )

For the first task : docservice currently runs on http. I want to make it run on https.

I have cloned the repo : https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/DocumentServer on my machine. How do I specify this local repo in automate.py, so that the build is generated from the local? Is there any other way of doing it?

How do I specify this local repo in automate.py, so that the build is generated from the loca

First run of automate.py will generate config and there is options here

I think for you is better to start with compilation of default product version, without your changes, because successful compilation of all those stuff is complicated task and even without your code there is may be troubles

But if you're 100% want to add your own code - you should make changes in source code that automate.py will download in subfolders

The fonts are generated using

Are fonts system specific? Is it possible to have have same fonts for all systems? Will it cause problems in onlyoffice if we do so?

I'm not sure that I totally understand your question, but font generation are converting fonts to js format to be served via browser

I observed the following number of fonts being generated for each of the OS:
ubuntu16 - 216 , ubuntu18 - 462 , rhel7 - 177, centos 8 - 186.
Shouldn't the command create same number of fonts for all os.

This can be found in onlyoffice/documentserver/fonts directory.

I think different numbers of fonts are result of different number of font files in originial ttf and other format installed on your system

First reason is probably that https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/desktop-sdk was not cloned/pulled. I have cloned it manually.

I'll see what happens; it is absolutely not clear to me why does it build various graphical tools and sdk when I only request docserver…

but then it fails with

I am not sure how it is not related that desktop-sdk was not retrieved which cause the original problem.
