Idle Champions tends to gradually increase its memory usage, but it's unclear what negative effects this has on gameplay (if any).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch idle champions
  2. ???
  3. Observe memory usage.

Expected results:
Memory use should not have any negative impact on gameplay.

Actual results:
???

Notes:
Various bad behaviors (game crashes, images/resources becoming invisible, etc) have been attributed to this tendency of the game to increase its memory use after running for a while. While some users report this sort of behavior as a regular occurrence, others are able to run the game for a week or more with no discernible consequences besides a higher number in the memory allocation field of Task Manager.

In order for this issue to be addressed, we need to identify both the specific problems and the steps that cause them. Please comment with any useful information you may have.

Also, if you are experiencing this issue, please put in a support ticket using the Support button in the game with:

  • your computer specs,
  • how long the game is normally open before it freezes,
  • the Champions you'd used in all the adventures you had done, and at the time of the freeze,
  • how many and where the familiars are assigned when it happens,
  • how many adventure completions you complete in the time the game is open,
  • if you're using speed potions on those adventures, and
  • if you're using any 3rd party software to play the game

In the past I would regularly encounter the missing resource issue (champions, enemies, backgrounds, etc not displaying properly or not showing up at all). This seemed more likely to occur after the game had been running for an extended time, but at least anecdotally it seemed more likely to happen after doing long runs in different missions (maybe different campaigns?). Repeated short runs (gem farming to zone ~30) seemed to trigger this less often, although it still happened.

Recently this particular issue seems to have either disappeared or been heavily reduced; I can't remember the last time I encountered missing images/assets.

However, I have had more crashes in the last few months than I remember seeing before. Just one-offs with no obvious trigger, but my game will generally crash after less than 8 days of uptime.
Attached my system specs according to steam://takesurvey/4/
