Field Display/Editor panel

Dear @ryantxu,

sorry for posting here.

We and other people from the Grafana community are looking at building a Grafana panel plugin for field data input and with buttons for submitting control commands [1] just like the Field Display/Editor control panel you have done for @NatelEnergy. We already spotted this within your presentations [2,3] the other day.

A foundational code base could definitively help us getting started. So, we are humbly asking whether this valuable plugin could be made open source -- or did we even fail to find it back?

while it is not that elaborated as the one by @NatelEnergy, @geeks-r-us conceived a nice Grafana panel for submitting messages to MQTT [1], which he shared with us the other day [2]. Enjoy!
