It appears that when showing preview targets w/ a reference target the weapon can in some cases draw decals onto "misses" that hit the preview targets. Depending on size/distance of these targets this can obscure them during the actual trial if they are not cleared. At first glance it would seem that miss decals should not be drawn on preview targets.

This doesn't seem to occur reliably/in all configurations. Similarly we occasionally have issues w/ decals being applied on target/destroy decal hits when using rapid firing weapons. We should do some work to try to understand where this is coming from and whether it is worth fixing.
I plan to re-test more thoroughly on an esports system when I get some free time.
