Fragmentation of the domain due to an intersection #179

Dear all,

I am currently working on reservoir simulation using explicit fracture simulation processes. To do so, i have been investigating on some different mesh softwares to try to automatise the process of domain fragmentation in a conformal way, having the discontinuities well represented. This mesh should include interface elements to represent such discontinuities, and to create these elements, their nodes must be duplicated.

I have been working in Gmsh for the last month, and I've been able to do all this process using the in-built tool gmsh/model/occ/fragment (see the documentation) to fragment the domain together with the crack generator plugin developed by AlfaBetaBeta to duplicate the nodes.

During my investigation, I discovered Netgen, which I like beacuse it is complete and easy to be used.

Thus, the reason why I opened this issue is to ask if there is the possibility to replicate the functionalities available in Gmsh but in Netgen, or if there is any plugin capable of doing this job. I am very interested as I would like to use Netgen to create my meshes.

I would be very thankful if anyone can help me answering this question.

Thank you all in advance.
