I have no clue if this is already possible, but here goes.

What if your (custom)driver goes down, can you update your device (in realtime) with an exclamation mark that would take it to the details page of that device?

What if you could send a notification to the brain, as flexible as possible (aka overlay with full customization), if 'some event' occurs? e.g. z-wave motion etc?

I asked for this one awhile back and feel it's a very important item to have as devices can commonly go offline/online for various reasons.

@neophob my question was more or less two-fold;
one- update indeed the device status in real time with maybe a custom message why the exclamation mark appears
two- out-context push notifications if user needs to provide either input or the device has remarks.

with regards to two: a practical use case would be: You could for example use this as an extension of cable salad; where the user has to provide additional one-time information while setting up the device (e.g. user/pass in case of kodi extension)
