Option for org admins to have edit access to their orgs requests #1890
Comments
Can we make sharing on MuckRock consistent with sharing on DocumentCloud? Do we need an Should all sharing go through projects rather than organizations? What other sharing models should we look at? How do we better share draft requests? |
Related permissions explanation document: https://www.notion.so/muckrock/User-organization-search-permissions-c310e46a7e7a4f7b9f35fc7b452831f5 (covers usernames and org names) |
@duckduckgrayduck will start new resource page that captures the service resource permissions (view, edit) across our services (eg. shared with org, public, private as view and edit options) so that we can continue to coalesce on some common understanding of resource sharing across our services. @amandabee will review and add related links from other half started pages. |
This is the resource sharing permissions document that describes how different assets on MuckRock and DocumentCloud work with regard to sharing: https://www.notion.so/muckrock/Sharing-on-MuckRock-platforms-121f88926963803c93a1e0ce3f42c93f |
Michael is going to review: https://www.notion.so/muckrock/Sharing-on-MuckRock-platforms-121f88926963803c93a1e0ce3f42c93f This probably needs more shaping into a clear set of feature requests. |
I'm also going to recommend that we close this issue as "will not fix" and re-open a new issue with the task of broadly aligning how sharing works across MuckRock's tools. We are generally not going to give Admins blanket access to all user requests; we do want to identify a path forward that is consistent with DocumentCloud's working that gives people a way to collaborate on requests in an organized fashion. |
