Releases: Meorge/sneaksters-testing
v0.3.5 Pre-Alpha (17 October 2020)
This release should be just about identical to v0.3.4, with the exception that multiplayer is (from my testing, and hopefully in general) no longer broken (issues #160 and #162)!
Please report any bugs you find to the issue tracker so I can keep track of and fix them!
v0.3.4 Pre-Alpha (15 October 2020)
Most of the changes in this version can be found here.
This version had a lot of visual/polish improvements, as well as greatly improved the pathfinding for the Guards. HOWEVER, from the little bit of testing I did, it looks like there are now bugs with objects - Guards, gemstones, the Gem Sack - not appearing for non-Leader players (#160), as well as transitioning back to the squad/lobby screen (#162). I'm hoping to fix these in the next release.
As always, please report issues to the issue tracker so I can keep track of them!
v0.3.3 Pre-Alpha (5 October 2020)
The issues fixed in this version can be found here. This version should make gameplay more stable, as it changes how thieves being captured works.
There are a few nice little cosmetic/user-side things as well:
- The title screen looks a little bit nicer
- More of the buttons in the game use the same reticle style as the main menu buttons
- FPS, ping time, and Discord Rich Presence status is shown in the game UI
v0.3.2 Pre-Alpha (29 September 2020)
This release contains mostly bug fixes; you can find the full list of changes here. Notably, the credits have been removed from within the game due to multiple bugs involving them, and are now available in the README on this repository instead as well as in the CREDITS.md file bundled with each version of the game.
v0.3.1.2 Pre-Alpha (26 September 2020) for Windows and Linux
This build should hopefully fix the "Return [Keyboard]" and "Escape/ESC [Keyboard]" bug (issue #133), but will break the button prompts for all other keys as well as controller button sprites. If it succeeds at the first part, I'll fix the rest :P
v0.3.1.1 Pre-Alpha (25 September 2020) for Windows and Linux
This build doesn't contain any new features or bug fixes. Its intended purpose is to do some debugging on issue #133. I think I know what the problem is, but I'd like to confirm it.
v0.3.1 Pre-Alpha (17 September 2020)
You can find the things changed/fixed/added on the v0.3.1 milestone page. Enjoy!
v0.3.0 Pre-Alpha (6 September 2020)
v0.3.0 is finally here after nearly-ish a year!
Wow, it's been quite a while! Now that I've got a new, powerful computer, I can finally resume working on Sneaksters. How exciting!
If you previously played the v0.2.1 or v0.2.0 pre-alphas, you probably won't notice any huge changes, perhaps beyond the game running more smoothly. Most of the work for v0.3.0 was trying to finish the implementation of FMOD for audio and improve the way that user-interface animations were handled.
Please report any bugs you come across to the issue tracker after checking that it hasn't already been reported.
If by some chance you haven't arrived here from these places, please join the official Sneaksters Discord server and subreddit to discuss the game!

Known bugs (to be fixed soon)

New Stuff
- A redesigned main menu interface
- Credits
- Player color customization
- German localization by RaspberryPiFan
- Support for Xbox One Wireless Controller, PS4 DualShock Controller, and (supposedly) generic gamepads
- New gameplay music
- A few surprises...?
Known Bugs/Notes
- The mission select screen can be finicky with controller and mouse
- Button prompts don't show up; this is a Unity-side issue that I'm waiting for a fix on
Why no Linux build?
I know that we do have some people who would like to play the game on Linux. Unfortunately, the current version of Unity that I'm using doesn't include the tools for building for Linux. This means I'm going to have to update the version of Unity that Sneaksters is made with before I can make a Linux build. Since this is the first major build to be released in quite a while, I'm also expecting v0.2.1 to happen very soon. It'll most likely be built with a newer version of Unity, and as such will be able to include a Linux build. (If I'm able to create a Linux build before then, I'll try to do so!) In the meantime, you may be able to run the Windows build of the game with Wine.
A Linux build is now available!
Who do I play with?
Sneaksters is primarily a multiplayer game. If you don't have anyone nearby to play with, feel free to join our official Discord server!
