Describe the issue

I think I might've screwed up in restoring the NVM file. I have a Japanese slim PS2 model that I region unlocked and the 50001 model that I unlocked. During restoration, it appears that my 50001 model has the wrong version (77000 CW). When looking to unlock the fat model again, it was unsuccessful, so now my disc tray is making whiny noises and ejecting fast and aggressive. Is there any fix on this?

Are you sure that you didnt store nvram backup somehere else? Maybe on another usb flash drive? Or maybe on the same flash drive with old serial in the filename. I am not sure that I will be able to find proper backup for your console.

I think I saved it on the same flash drive, which probably caused this to happen.

nvm_5.04_3186291.zip
extract this NVRAM file into the root of your USB folder. Use the latest MechaPwn (here, in the artifacts section) to restore it.

It's back in its original state, but the disc tray still isn't working properly.

Unfortunately, you need to solder pmap device and calibrate the laser, as you lost your original nvram.
