We could just reuse the one from 2019: https://2019.midl.io/code-of-conduct/

I've added a page with the same text, but haven't placed a link to it anywhere yet. Not sure where best to do that.

I reopen it because I think we should look at the text. I compared it with the ICLR code at https://iclr.cc/public/CodeOfConduct and I think that one is a bit clearer, it does not use very vague phrases like ‘disruptive conduct’.

This paper has useful phrases to make a better code of conduct: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmars.2016.00103/full
Eg, instead of disruptive conduct it says something that everybody understands: ‘Disrespectful disruption of presentations.’

Maybe this should be picked up again? The 2020 code of conduct is now different from the one on midl.io, see https://2020.midl.io/code-of-conduct.html

Yes indeed. This is a point to discuss with the board. Here ia a relevant exchange with Tal:

Many thanks for your mail.

As a founding member of WiM (Women in MICCAI), I worked on the Code of Conduct (along with others) and proposed its adoption to the MICCAI board. It was WiM's proposal that all MICCAI endorsed events agree to take on a code of conduct.

My thoughts are that adopting MICCAI's code of conduct makes sense. However, it is important to be prepared with a process should violations take place.

Chris and I would be happy to discuss and work with the MIDL board with regards to this issue.

Hi,

Adding to Geert, for the code of conduct, we will need to make this a MIDL wide one rather than a MIDL 2020 only but as we haven't discussed this thoroughly enough within the MIDL board yet, you can have a lot of influence!

For the record, this is what we currently have:
https://www.midl.io/code-of-conduct.html
The MICCAI one is here:
http://www.miccai.org/about-miccai/code-of-conduct/
There is also a template available here for further inspiration:

Cheers,
Tom
