I note that currently the home page says:

The code is available under GPL v2.

In the past I have been told that releasing code developed at SLAC under GPL is incompatible with SLAC's agreement with DOE. Other less restrictive licenses like LGPL (or BSD?) may be OK.

That is very interesting. Happy for us to switch to BSD or MIT no problem.
