Hello,

I noticed important differences between the European and American version of Jura E6.

First, this is how you can make the difference between those two versions:

American version:

European version:

Then, concerning the UI, the American version has only the following functions (see here):

  • Espresso
  • 2 x Espresso
  • Coffee
  • 2 x Coffee
  • Cappuccino
  • Portion of milk foam
  • Hot water

Whereas the European version has the following functions (see here):

  • Espresso
  • 2 x Espresso
  • Coffee
  • 2 x Coffee
  • Cappuccino
  • Caffè Barista
  • Lungo Barista
  • Espresso doppio
  • Macchiato
  • Portion of milk
  • Hot water

Hence, only the functions corresponding to the first page of predefined coffees will work with the American version (i.e. Espresso, Coffee, Capuccino and Portion of Milk).

Additionally, please note that the "Custom coffee" doesn't work with the American version (yet). Actually, it will make your coffee machine grind forever, BE CAREFUL ! (I'm currently investigating this problem ...)

Hello @COM8,
I would like to work on this issue. Does the serial snooper (https://github.com/Jutta-Proto/serial-snooper) would work without the Bluetooth dongle?
Thanks

Glad to hear!
I can be used as starting point. What you want to do is:
Iterate through FA:00 to FA:FF and from FN:00 to FN:FF. Observe if you detect a change and note it down.
That's how I figured out the commands available here: https://github.com/Jutta-Proto/protocol-cpp#available-commands

In case you have some questions regarding the setup, feel free to reach out and I will try to help you.

The thing is, I don't have a Bluetooth dongle, so I'm wondering if it's possible to snoop without it!?

What you are suggesting is sending commands FA:00 to FA:FF and FN:00 to FN:FF and observe the result?

Thanks for you help ;)

I figured out most of the commands by doing exactly this. But you can have a look at the machine files for your model. There they list a few commands, the app can trigger.
