In other live streaming platform, like twitch, chat user can have special "roles": VIP, donor, ...

We could use XEP-0317 Hats to implement such roles.

The list of roles would be configurable on the channel option.
Hats would be given to users in the chatrooms.

Then, user with specific hats could bypass some restrictions:

  • bypass moderation bot rules (for example, only VIP and donnors could send http links, or bypass the emoji only mode)
  • a mode where only VIP could talk
  • ...
