More generally, I am wondering which of the four types have been used in the published journal and technical VAST papers. Could there possibly be, at some point, a list of the journal and technical papers that have used types 1, 2, 3 and 4?
Perhaps a good study/paper at some point would be a comparison of simulated new dynamics and sampling data when using type 1 vs. 2 vs. 3 vs. 4?
Many thanks in advance for your answers and have a nice day.
Cheers,
Arnaud

Kia ora,
I find it neat that there are four alternative options ("types") to simulate new dynamics and sampling data in VAST: https://github.com/James-Thorson-NOAA/FishStatsUtils/blob/main/R/simulate_data.R
I was wondering if type 4 was used for the following paper? https://academic.oup.com/icesjms/article/77/5/1728/5814325
Otherwise, which type was used?
