Project 3: Compare the transcriptomic profiles of adult and pediatric sarcomas using RNA-seq data

Background

The Sarkidomics project aims to characterize pediatric soft tissue sarcoma, a rare and mysterious cancer type that can happen in all parts of the body.

In this project, students will use RNA-seq expression data of adult and pediatric sarcomas to compare their profiles.

Data

• matrices of RNA expression
• clinical data

Requirements

• knowledge of multivariate analysis (PCA, UMAP)
• statistics (linear and non-linear regression)

Steps

1. Download the matrices and

2. Perform a PCA and UMAP of the data

3. Assess (quantify and test) the separation between adult and pediatric tumors, and between tumor types in adult and pediatric tumors
