Info

Join the project and add your name to the wall of contributors, whether you're a total beginner starting your journey to open source with hacktoberfest or you're a veteran, join the project, tag your name and few interesting resources that may help others and make a pull request!

How?

  1. Fork the project to your own account.

  2. In the index.html file you'll find a template code named contributor-card

    image

  3. Copy/Past the template in the section between the comments "__ YourName Card START __ " and "__ YourName Card END __":

    image

  4. Change the placeholder text and links ( change the herf="#" by your actual urls, e.g; herf="https://github.com/IndigoWizard")
you may delete the links to socials that you don't need if you dont have twitter or dev account...

  5. Make a pull request and wait for the maintainers to review and merge it, only then it will go online on the live website.

Note:

Do not temper with the template or the css file.
If you got improvements or fixes you want to apply to the project file, open a separate issue with all the necessary details first.

@dayanand-g hey, this is a "long-term" open issue if I can label it as such. It serves as main issue to catch contributors attention.
You are welcome to work on it and complete the task stated in the issue without worrying about assignment or closing it!

so this is just adding my name and details which i can also add or limited to one?

@Pavan-Nambi it's fine since you worked on a separate issue, so it's not spammy. You can add this one in a separate PR after I merge the previous one.
Keep in mind that adding commits on same branch while a previous PR is open will stack on the same PR and won't be counted as a separate one.

something i wanted to get clarify - i saw this in some repo that contributions done to repos which says add your name will be removed so now will my contribution also removed? sorry if its dumb q idk how it works

@Pavan-Nambi No worries, it's not a dumb question it's actually important. There has been some new rules and guidelines this year to avoid spammy contributions for the sake of the reward as people tend to abuse the system.
Still, it is ambiguous because some contributors need this kind of exercise to get used to the workflow and it doesn't have to be spammy.
We're still looking into it, and we'll make adjustment once we have clarifications. We'll notify our contributors of course of the outcome.
Normally as long as I vouch for the contributors PRs and label them as accepted and merge them it should be fine.
If something comes up you shall be notified.
