Inconveniences with 'Desktop' vs 'Mobile' layouts on convertible devices #691

I have a folding phone and one thing I've felt some degree of inconvenience with is trying to use HoloDex in the unfolded tablet-like mode. HoloDex looks and works best in 'desktop' mode on this device, but because the device is convertible and has a more typical narrow front display, it's generally not practical to have the browser operate in 'desktop' mode at all times (and browsers generally don't let you set mobile vs desktop on a per-site basis, nor based on the screen layout).
Operating in 'mobile' browser mode, however, means that HoloDex 1) completely ignores my saved default/custom layouts entirely when adding/removing videos, and 2) opens to the 'Mobile' view by default when I tap the layouts button -- which only has the default basic set of mobile-oriented layouts which aren't useful in 'tablet' mode.
One option that would definitely help would be a mobile/desktop override of some kind for the whole site, but I don't know how feasible this is. An alternative might be an override to make the auto-layout mechanism and layout menu behave as it does in Desktop mode even when it's operating in Mobile mode.
