Either I'm blind, or Helmod doesn't yet support quality ingredients
For example, lets say I want to make rare quality green circuits through upcycling normal quality ingredients.
I might think of a factory looking something like (this jams due to no buffers, but is just for demonstration purposes):
That is, everything is stuffed full of quality modules, and anything that doesn't meet the desired quality gets recycled to try again
Helmod should let me specify a desired output rate of rare quality green circuits, and it should calculate the number of buildings and normal quality ingredients needed.
I think the missing features to achieve this are:
I should be able to specify the quality of the outputs (and inputs)
I should be able to select specific quality recipes
Helmod should automatically work out, for each recipe, what % of the output is upgraded in quality when quality modules are present (depends on research level, since epic and legendary quality aren't available until unlocked)
