CBF knocking one up from scratch (unless someone is volunteering)

Probably a barebones deal that has a basic MVC structure that we can use as scaffolding?

with this we could review the code from something like Simple Press (a WordPress Forum Plugin) and see what we can scrape from that to turn into a proper forum system. If not that, perhaps look at the current PHP-Fusion code and see what we can borrow?

I will keep thinking this stuff through though.

Lots of bare-bone frameworks out there. I would advise against using simplepress as it will use a lot of WordPress functions and hooks.

I think we should explore the possibilities of using what open source products are available to us, I will do some research this weekend to see if I can find any suggestions, unless any one has a strong knowledge regarding what is available.

Maybe a little off topic but do you think we should get rid of the shoutbox? I know I think it should go - so all focus is on the forums.

Shout box is a shitty layer between forum ans irc.

Symphony for full stack, pheasant for orm. That's probably my suggestion.

In saying that, I'll smang together an mvc in a weekend if we nerd.
Shouldn't be hard for what we need.
