We need a forum #2

with this we could review the code from something like Simple Press (a WordPress Forum Plugin) and see what we can scrape from that to turn into a proper forum system. If not that, perhaps look at the current PHP-Fusion code and see what we can borrow? I will keep thinking this stuff through though. |
Lots of bare-bone frameworks out there. I would advise against using simplepress as it will use a lot of WordPress functions and hooks. I think we should explore the possibilities of using what open source products are available to us, I will do some research this weekend to see if I can find any suggestions, unless any one has a strong knowledge regarding what is available. Maybe a little off topic but do you think we should get rid of the shoutbox? I know I think it should go - so all focus is on the forums. |
Shout box is a shitty layer between forum ans irc. Symphony for full stack, pheasant for orm. That's probably my suggestion. In saying that, I'll smang together an mvc in a weekend if we nerd.

CBF knocking one up from scratch (unless someone is volunteering)
Probably a barebones deal that has a basic MVC structure that we can use as scaffolding?
