Failed to init screencast on Sway/Wayland but screenshare snippet works?

Hi, I'm trying to get my phone screen to show what's on my computer, but it just shows a black screen and does two popups that say failed to init screencast. Drawing works, I just can't see what I'm doing lol.

I've reinstalled wireplumber, tried pipewire-media session, ran the gUM(?) and xdp snippets which both worked, read the page for troubleshooting xdg-desktop-portal-wlr, ran sway with dbus, logged in and out, still doesn't work. I know this seems like a duplicate issue, but I cannot figure out what's going on. I've even tried two different browsers on my phone.

Thank you in advance for your help (and for Weylus!), and please let me know what other commands I can run that would shed some light on this issue.

It works after several popups and waiting when xournal (the notes app I use) is run under XWayland, however, I would prefer to have a wayland-only solution if possible. And to figure out if I have something set up wrong on my end.
