There is an ability to add multiple issues to a series at one time, where information that is common to each of the issues such as Publisher, Brand Emblem, Price can be applied to each issue. Then the indexer can go back and fill in details that vary across the issues, such as on-sale date. Can a similar option be added to add multiple variant issues to a single base issue at one time? We would need to allow the indexer to specify the order and name of each variant. Allow the ability to copy issue level data from the base issue (as with current variants), or to add additional issue level data for all the variants being added that may not exist in the base issue yet (i.e. Page count, editors, indicia printer, etc.). Then after approval, the indexer can go back and modify the new variants and add (or copy) cover sequences. An example of this: an issue skeleton has been added with minimal information, i.e. publisher, on-sale date, and price, and the base issue is reserved by an indexer once added. There are 8 variant issues that need to be added to this issue. The indexer adding the variants specifies the sequence of the variants #1-8 and the name for each variant (i.e. Cover A, Cover B, etc.). Then they enter the information that is common to all the variants, i.e. page count, editor info, etc. and submit. They could also have the option to reserve the variants so they would go to their editing queue for further editing, i.e. adding cover sequences. The cover sequences differ by variant, so each must be created one at a time, but it is time-consuming to have to add the other issue detail info 8 times that is the same across all the variants.
