I have searched the issue tracker and did not find an issue describing my bug/feature.
Description of your suggestion.
The issue I have is people will ignore all skills except strength and defense and be able to use diamonds relatively quickly but ignore all other skills
This core problem is the only way to level up is through xp, which usually goes to strength and defense, leveling that up quickly while the others are left behind
Project MMO has it so that when you do something, it upgrades that specific skill, like
breaking blocks -> mining
This allows for users to not max their strength and defense immediately and also lets users passively upgrade farming and mining as they play along
There should be a config/addon where
Dealing damage -> strength
Getting hit -> defense
Crafting/smtihing -> smithing
Breaking blocks -> mining
Farming -> farming
Brewing -> alchemy
That should allow people to have more balanced skills, as long as the config is tweaked for them to gain fewer skill points from xp
The second thing is to de-inventivize players from using all their xp on strength and defense. There should be a config that increases skill point requirements as they level up (like level 5 requires 5 skill points) so players would be more likely to upgrade lower level skills than max out one single skill, preferably only for strength and defense
JobsAddon isn't exactly what I wanted since it just gives general skill points, so people will just use it for strength and defense again. For now, the easiest way to do this is add config for JobsAddon to directly level up specific skills so players are incentivized to level up using specific jobs instead of gaining xp
