User story

As a server administrator I want to control the game reported to Steam so that my users have accurate information about the server

Game

Left 4 Dead

Linux distro

RedHat 7

Command

command: start

Further information

I have recently noticed after user reports that the "Game" reported by Steam is the same value as what I set in the hotsname configuration value. See screen capture below.

2024-08-18 14_57_05-

I was expecting, as was the case in the past (I can't say how far back) to see "Left 4 Dead" in that position.

Relevant log output

No response

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install a Left 4 Dead server.
  2. Set a value to hostname in the server configuration.
  3. In Steam, add the server to one's server list via View > Game Servers > Add (+).
  4. Once the server shows up in the list, right-click and select "View server info".
  5. The "Game" info is the same as the "Server" info.
