We may be able to get GSA's google admins to automatically bounce back anything sent to [email protected] that doesn't come from .gov or .mil - do we think that would fulfill this requirement if we can go this route? cc @carodew@thisisdano
Hmm – I think it might, but it might also go too far, as I imagine we might want certain members of the public to get in touch with the program for non idea-submission things. Although this is something we should keep in our back pocket if we can't find a better solution – I could see something like setting up a separate email account ( something like [email protected] or similar) that we only use for submissions that could have the bounciness applied) but still leave the [email protected] email open so members of the public/journalists/feds using their personal emails (not that that ever happens) can still contact the program?
So I'd suggest we do what I suggest above and have one email for general contact us type stuff, and one email that is just for submitting ideas that we restrict to .gov and .mil email addresses. I did read in the info above that we can customize the bounce message so it doesn't necessarily need to be a confusing user experience.
Either way – we need to decide this week on what we're doing.
