🐞❓ Is "installTypes" real? It does nothing and there's 0 results in Snowpack's codebase.

Hi I'm trying to install types into /web_modules so I can use:

import { stuff } from '/web_modules/mod.js'

With a TSConfig that directs "paths": {} to the types supposedly imported by Snowpack. Enabling with installOptions: { installTypes: true } doesn't seem to do anything... There are no "d.ts" files in /web_modules even after snowpack --reload and full reinstalls.

I also can't find the code in Snowpack itself to even do the importing, both on GitHub and by searching node_modules/snowpack.

Are you lying about this feature? It seems it was merged in April https://github.com/pikapkg/snowpack/pull/282/files but the code is gone. There's also note about "source: pika" but that option doesn't exist anymore...

If the feature doesn't exist then why is it advertised?

It's a feature that we tried to get into Snowpack v2.0 release, but couldn't make it in. There are still some references to it around the codebase, and we hope to add something like this back for a v3 release.

Unrelated to this discussion, we actually already have a PR open to remove some left-over references inside the Create Snowpack App templates. Looks like we should remove the reference in our docs site as well. #1137

I have no idea where you got the impression that this was advertised anywhere, if I'm missing any other references to this outside the config table please let me know. Otherwise, please remember to show respect and good faith when engaging in this community. No one likes to be accused of lying :)

I got the impression it was advertised because it's in the docs. I didn't see it anywhere other than the config table, but I was looking for a way to not use "@snowpack/babel-plugin-package-import"...

Also yeah thanks for calling me out (honestly). I had just wasted an hour wrestling the bundler (in the "unbundled development workflow" haha) so I was being a bit short, sorry - I shouldn't take that out on the project. I know you're trying your best to develop Snowpack into something great, and I appreciate your quick response! I also know that Snowpack is heavily multitasking right now so I do expect there to be some minor doc issues like this. Keep up the good work!
