Feature description

When user doesn't want caller to know they rejected the call so ignoring it will shows are busy

@inson1 I think ignoring call is meant to work like declining call, but without letting the other side know about it. Currently, you can just silence the ringtone by clicking the lock button on the phone.

What exactly is supposed to happen when the call is declined? I don't think it's possible to control what the other person hears when the call is rejected.

@naveensingh I thought about something like this, that user presses the lock button or some icon on the screen and the ringtone stops ringing (how it does now when pressing the lock button) and the notification about the phone call hides completely (it can be still in the drawer, but not visible on the screen). It should also work like this if call notifications are in full-screen mode, so I don't need to do an additional click to hide the app.

So the feature request is to silence the call and hide the call UI as if the call was declined?

I have noticed that I can usually silence a call just by pressing the volume down button, maybe it's not a standard Android feature.

"Flip to silence" seems like a quick, easy, and accessible way to do it. Google Phone also has this option. We can either do flip on a flat surface or just flip in the air.

this feature exists in android 'do not disturb' , 'do not disturb' also allows you to not let the unknown callers call pop up in notifications, while the phone is in use

for example, if you are listening to music while using the phone, an unknown caller calls you, it does not interrupt your listening to music and only shows up in status bar, once the unknown callers call is completed, you can always check the phone log for the number

there is an app on F-Droid 'OpenContacts' that does this, but it does not have a dialer, and the ui is not so clean

apparently its a easy option to add.

it can be a checkbox option under block callers not in contacts

thanks for replying, I know the feature to block already exists
I would like the option to silence the call and not see the call if I'm using the phone and if the phone is locked the screen should not wake

do you suggest I open a separate feature request? thanks

thanks , I made a separate request as I agree with you it is not the same as ignoring calls

Right now if i mute incoming call, every sound across the system also gets muted, for example if i listen music in VLC it get muted too, so i must wait for incoming call to end. So mute only ringtone will be better option.

This seems to be default Android feature to pause/stop any playback automatically in case of incoming call.
