Change mic input (default and communication default) possible?

In the same way I can set an output default very easily from the system tray, can a feature be added to set the default mic and comms default?

One step further, could it be that we can create input/output sound device profiles that automatically apply settings we chose?

If I know that in the day when I work I want my mono headset with mic to be the defaults I would pick profile "work".
Then at night with a simple menu selection I could pick my "play" preset which changes the input/output to my headphones and mod mic for gaming.

Just some suggestions to think on. Thank you for the great tool!
