5422 Hand Patterns with 15-17

With 2245, 2254, 4225, and 4252 BBA sometimes opens NT and sometimes opens the 5-card suit. I assume these are opened 1N w/15-16 and in the suit w/17. I don't understand the 2254 hand.

• 2245: reverse
• 2254: ??
• 4225: rebid 1S, jump raise, or reverse
• 4252: rebid 1S, jump raise, or reverse

With 2425 & 2452 they are always opened in the 5-card suit. Why?
