I am installing nix onto a recently imaged iMac for the first time. The installer failed during "plan" because (I think) of an existing Nix Store volume on an external drive. There was no Nix Store volume on the internal drive, and I think there had never been one.

However, /etc/fstab somehow got an entry for the external drive's nix store volume. These are the first and only times I've run a nix installer from the internal drive. I did run Determinate Systems' installer, the nixos.org installer, and the nix-darwin installer (more than once) while booted from the external drive.

Full terminal transcript with annotations is attached.
