ReverseProxy

Creates a very simple reverse proxy that inserts the following headers:

  • X-Forwarded-Host

  • X-Forwarded-Proto

  • X-Forwarded-Url

It allows to reverse proxy multiple services with their own base paths.

Creating a self signed cert

$ openssl req -new -subj "/C=CA/ST=Alberta/CN=localhost" -newkey rsa:2048 -nodes -keyout localhost.key -out localhost.csr
$ openssl x509 -req -days 365 -in localhost.csr -signkey localhost.key -out localhost.crt
$ cat localhost.crt localhost.key > localhost.pem

Run

Without TLS:

$ ./reverseproxy -p 8080 -t http://localhost:8081 -b /path

With TLS:

$ ./reverseproxy -p 8443 -t http://localhost:8081 -b /path -cert localhost.crt -key localhost.key

With multiple services:

$ ./reverseproxy -p 8080 \
  -t http://localhost:8081 -b /service-a \
  -t http://localhost:8082 -b /service-b
