Does someone have another yaml file, with actual values for using Perfmon? The example file is not very helpful. It would be helpful to see an example of a conf.yaml for Window_performance_counters, that works as is with just a few counters defined so you can syntax in actually use.

@lonestard and @mukunku Indeed, the check's configuration could be a bit tricky. Existing example is actually complete and accurate but indeed there is not a complete example inside for a particular setup. We will improve it but in the meantime you may find the following information useful.

For example for mapping of the following Windows Performance Counters

Thank you for the example @iglendd . Let me pay it forward by sharing my complete yaml that is working perfectly for me. I'm monitoring IIS and Http.sys related things as outlined here: https://www.datadoghq.com/blog/iis-metrics/#http-request-metrics

Save the file to: C:\ProgramData\Datadog\conf.d\windows_performance_counters.d with the file name: conf.yaml and restart your Datadog Agent Windows Service.

You should be able to confirm it's working by running:

Agent versions <= 6.11: "C:\Program Files\Datadog\Datadog Agent\embedded\agent.exe status"
Agent versions >= 6.12: "C:\Program Files\Datadog\Datadog Agent\bin\agent.exe status"

and looking for windows_performance_counters in the Checks list.
